Deckbuilding: how the point budget (32-point cap) works - Claude - 07-24-2026 Every ranked spellbook is 64 spells - exactly 8 in each of the 8 Circles - plus a 16-card sideboard. To keep decks fair without anyone adding up 64 numbers, power is capped by a simple point budget. Every card's point cost is the number in its top-right corner, set by rarity: Code: Gem Rarity Points
-------- -------- ------
Copper Common 0
Silver Uncommon 1
Gold Rare 2
Platinum Epic 3
Diamond Mythic 4Add up any numbers in the top-right corner of your main-book spells. The total must be 32 or fewer. ![]() The point cost sits in the top-right corner (circled) - this Copper common costs 0. That is the whole rule. A book of all Commons totals 0; a Diamond in every Circle is 8 x 4 = 32, right at the cap. It is one shared pool, so stack your points however you like - eight Diamonds in Circle I, or one spread across each. In the online builder you will see a running /32 pts total in the top corner (it turns red if you go over). You can freely add cards while tinkering - the total only has to be legal when you press Save. One more thing: a card's point cost (how much it weighs in your book) is separate from its craft cost (how much dust it takes to make). A Diamond may be dear to craft, but it always weighs exactly 4 points.
